The Southern Dominican Province is comprised of 160 men ministering throughout 11 states in the United States, continuing the 800 year legacy of the Order of Preachers. Founded in 1979, under the patronage of St. Martin de Porres, we are a young province without significant sources of endowment. Like all religious communities, we do not receive any financial subsidy from the local diocese in which we minister. Because the majority of our ministries focus on the poor and marginalized, our financial and ministerial needs greatly exceed our resources.
