  Fr. Kirwin along with 35 other CFCA
 priest preachers preach weekend appeals for sponsors throughout the year. Again, there is no cost to the parish, and no
collection. It is a wonderful, responsible, practical way to involve families in the mission outreach of the church. 
  • Program: When a parish welcomes a CFCA preacher,
there is no collection, simply weekend appeal to parishioners to sponsor a child or elderly person in one of 25 countries. We 
preach only in parishes at the invitation of the pastor. All the expenses, including travel of the preacher are paid by 
the foundation, a Catholic lay organization that is listed in the Kenedy Catholic Directory under Lay Missionary Activities.

  • Experience: Fr Mele, was ordianed a priest in 1980.  He has served in diocesan ministry, parishes, and foreign missions. As his primary work, Fr. Mele is administering the lay ministry formation program in the Diocese of Fort Worth. He keeps two homilietic blogs active: Weekday Homilies and The Sunday Homily in Spanish.

  • Experience: Paul Philibert has taught theology and pastoral studies for years, notably at Catholic University, Aquinas Institute, and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland).  He has written on ordained priesthood (Stewards of God's Mysteries, Liturgical Press 2004) and on the priesthood of the baptized (The Priesthood of the Faithful, Liturgical Press 2005), as well as about moral and spiritual development.  He recently gave the Clergy Days for the Diocese of Nottingham (England).
  • Programs: Fr. Philibert is available for retreats for religious communities or for programs of parish renewal in Catholic parishes, as well as for workshops for ministers in formation or for continuing formation.
  • Availability: He is generally available both during the academic year and during the summer vacation months, if scheduled sufficiently in advance.
  • Fees: Depending on the resources of the community that offers the invitation. The following are general fee guidelines:
    • Weekend parish program:  $1,500
    • Week of parish renewal:  $2,500
    • Single day program: $500 and up
    • Please feel free to discuss your situation with Fr. Paul if your community cannot afford these fees.
